Powered by IIE, RISEUS has launched a grant program to provide awardees with up to $5,000 of emergency assistance. We believe that by supporting these exceptional students, we are helping to build a brighter future for the global Iranian community. See the details below for the first grant series.

We have identified a list of universities for the first grant series. Applications from universities not on this list may be considered.

First Series Timeline

Applications Open: April 15th, 2026

Applications Close: May 1st, 2026

Grant Announcement: June 15th, 2026

Eligibility Criteria

  • Citizens or former residents of Iran 

  • Currently in the United States on a valid student visa or other legal residency status 

  • Pursuing a degree in the U.S. in one of the

  • Financially impacted by recent events in Iran

Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated financial need

  • Academic merit 

  • Strong explanation of future plan

  • Demonstrated community engagement

Process

RISEUS Grant Nomination Committee will nominate grant candidates; A super majority vote of the Nomination Committee members is required for an applicant to be nominated for the Grant. RISEUS Grant Committee will consist of the Founder and at least two other members. RISEUS will put forward the Grant Nominees to IIE. IIE will select final Grant Awardees.

 

Upon IIE’s selection of the Grant Awardees, the Awardees will receive an email communication with the Grant details from IIE. Once the grant agreement is signed by the student and IIE receives other required documents, IIE will authorize the transfer of the fund to the student’s bank account.
